PuroClean Donates to a Buddhist Monastery in India

In The Community

As leaders in the restoration industry, we pride ourselves on helping those in need. Our franchise owner recently spent time at Sera Jey Tsawa Khangtsens, a Buddhist Monastery in Southern India. He describes the time he spent there as a rewarding and enriching experience. And so, PuroClean rallied by giving back to the monastery, wishing to repay the monks for their kindness and accommodations.

Repaying Goodwill – Giving Back to the Monastery

The Khangtsens are the living quarters in the Sera Jey Tsawa monastery, housing roughly 300 monks. The monks choose to live without luxuries, but that does not mean they need to live in unsanitary conditions, if it can be helped.

The time at the monastery revealed that these monks were living with inadequate and damaged supplies. Their day-to-day lives were hindered by broken water buckets that they used to clean their clothes. Mops and brooms were old, worn, and covered with mold.

We knew this wasn’t right. So we donated all new cleaning supplies to the monastery. New, sturdy buckets replaced the old, cracked ones. Brand-new brooms and mops took the place of the unsanitary ones they had been using. And, clean towels replaced the mold-infested rags they had been making do with. On top of all of the supplies for basic sanitation, PuroClean also provided food.

In the words of Buddha, “Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression.” These gracious monks offered Phil their kindness with no expectations. It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to deliver an act of kindness to them in return.

PuroClean Believes Every Little Bit Makes the Difference

It can make a big difference in someone’s life.
