Emergency Water Damage Remediation Services

The Water Removal Process

  1. The first thing our technicians will do is remove damaged materials that will either be restored or discarded. These materials include baseboards, insulation, furniture, upholstery, carpeting, carpet padding, fragile wood, drywall, and more.
  2. After the damaged items are removed, we begin drying out the water and disinfecting the affected areas. Specialized tools like air movers and dehumidifiers are typically used in the drying process.
  3. Our technicians will then handle mold damage in the restoration process. Mold-infected surfaces will be disinfected and restored as quickly as possible to prevent it from spreading. Mold-infected surfaces will be disinfected and restored as quickly as possible to prevent mold from spreading.

Emergency Water Extraction

We begin by extracting any standing water found in your home or business using high-grade equipment, strategically placed to remove water from the area.

  1. The first step requires immediate water removal through our advanced pumping machines. Once the water has been extracted, all affected belongings and structures will be removed and stored or discarded.
  2. Once completed, the equipment will be removed and the water will be discarded elsewhere by PuroClean’s technicians.

Drying & Dehumidification

Once all areas requiring this process have been identified, the areas are isolated and prepped for drying and dehumidification.

  1. Removal of belongings and upholstery will be necessary to ensure that the process can be thoroughly completed.
  2. When ready, the PuroClean technician will place air moving machines around the isolated area. Keep in mind that these machines are loud. The fans will be focusing on areas of the house or business that contain moisture to pull out any trapped water.
  3. Next, the water will be pulled into the air and the fans as they go through the dehumidification process. All of the water pulled out will be disposed of by the PuroClean technician in another location.
  4. To ensure that everything is drying, a PuroClean technician will monitor moisture levels. Once moisture levels are normal, any removed items will be placed back to their original locations.

Carpet Restoration

Carpet restoration is the process that PuroClean uses to take your damaged carpet and restore it to its previous state.

  1. The first step is to find the source of the water damage as this determines whether or not your carpet is salvageable.
  2. If the findings of step one show that the carpet is salvageable, any remaining water is removed through water extraction.
  3. Then, high-grade air-moving fans will be used to remove the moisture from the carpet to prevent mold growth.
  4. PuroClean technicians will keep you and your insurance agent updated during the drying process.
  5. Once the carpet is dry, all equipment will be removed from the area, and all belongings will be put back into place.

Carpet Cleaning, Deodorization & Spot Removal

Any carpet that has been affected by water damage is subject to mildew being formed, which can cause an odor to spread not only in the affected room but throughout the entire home or office. Any such odors can be removed from your carpet with proper cleaning, deodorization, and/or spot removal.

  1. Our technician will begin with a complete inspection and vacuuming of your carpet.
  2. Then, your furniture will be removed to repair your carpet.
  3. Should the need arise, a spot and pet odor treatment will be done.
  4. Available fiber or textile protection is also available, which will protect and prolong the value of your carpet.

Mold & Odor Removal

We at PuroClean Property Restoration Experts will tend to your mold damage and ensure your home or business is fully restored by following a strict process that involves the following. Please note that getting a professional on-site quickly to address water damage is essential to preventing mold growth.

  1. We will start by performing a mold assessment, delicately inspecting your property for signs of mold. Then we’ll conduct a full mold removal, where we thoroughly remove the mold from the site.
  2. After all the mold is removed, we will deodorize the site. Deodorization includes cleaning and sanitizing the structure, fixtures, and content.

We will then use HEPA Air Filtration and HEPA Vacuuming equipment to evaporate water and eliminate moisture.

Water Damage Repairs Do’s and Don’ts

Repairing water damage is very important, but the safety of all parties is our number one priority. Whether mitigating or restoring water damage, the following tips will help reduce the risk of you suffering a setback due to a rain event, flood, faulty plumbing, leaking AC, or roof.

What to do

  • Turn Water Off: Shut down your home’s water supply and call a plumber for repairs.
  • Use Caution: Watch your step, as floors may be slippery. Also, watch for trip and fall hazards, as well as for exposed electrical wires.
  • Remove Water: Mop up as much water as possible. In cool weather, open windows to speed drying; in hot weather, if safe, switch on your A/C.
  • Prop Up Upholstery: Remove all loose cushions and prop up upholstered furniture.
  • Manage Area Rugs and Obstacles: Remove rugs and pick up any items that may be sitting on the floor.
  • Dry Storage Containers: Open wet suitcases and storage boxes; if possible, dry them in the sunlight.
  • Protect Valuables: Move paintings and other artwork to a safe, dry place.
  • Dry Clothing: Immediately dry all garments. Hang fur and leather goods to dry at room temperature.
  • Protect Furniture: Place aluminum foil or plastic under furniture legs on wet carpeting. Open, but do not force, drawers and cabinet doors to dry out interiors.
  • Call PuroClean Immediately: Call PuroClean Property Restoration Experts at (972) 892-0000. Our trained technicians are highly skilled in water damage repair.

What Not to Do

  • Don’t Use a Vacuum Cleaner: Only use a wet vacuum, which is equipped to handle water. DO NOT USE your regular household vacuum.
  • Don’t Operate Electrical Appliances: DO NOT USE TVs, radios, computers, ceiling fans, or any other electrical appliances while standing on wet carpets or floors, particularly concrete or tile floors.
  • Don’t Touch Outlets or Plugs: DO NOT PLUG OR UNPLUG any electrical appliances or touch anything that is already plugged in.
  • Don’t Turn up the Heat: Keep interiors cool, as mold grows in heat and moisture.
