We understand the importance of community and making a positive difference in the world. On December 17th, 2024, our team had the honor of volunteering at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) in Libertyville, IL.
This event was more than just a volunteer opportunity—it was a chance to join hands with a globally impactful organization to help fight hunger and provide nourishment to children in need. It was a truly rewarding experience that allowed our team to bond while giving back to the world in a meaningful way.
The Importance of Feed My Starving Children
Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children in crisis worldwide. Their mission is simple but powerful: to eliminate hunger in children and give them the opportunity to live healthy, fulfilling lives. Each year, FMSC volunteers across the country come together to pack millions of meals that will be shipped to children who are struggling to survive due to hunger and malnutrition.
When we had the opportunity to partner with them, we knew it was a cause that aligned perfectly with our values. Volunteering at FMSC allowed us to contribute to this important mission while making a tangible impact in the fight against hunger.
Our Volunteer Experience at FMSC Libertyville
On December 17th, our team at PuroClean of Burlington took time away from our usual workday to give back to those in need. We arrived at the FMSC facility in Libertyville eager to contribute and serve the community. The experience was truly humbling and meaningful. Together, we worked as a team to pack meals that would help feed starving children all over the world.
In just a few short hours, we were able to pack 88 boxes, each filled with nutritious meals. These meals were made up of carefully prepared ingredients that would help sustain children in desperate need of food. As a result of our efforts, we helped create 19,008 meals, which would provide sustenance for 51 children for an entire year.
Prayers and Reflection
Once all the meals were packed and loaded onto pallets, our team took a moment to gather around the shipment. We took the time to pray over the meals, asking for blessings for the children who would soon receive the food. We prayed for their health, safety, and well-being and for the continued success of the FMSC mission.
This act of prayer was a powerful reminder of the importance of community and compassion. It helped us reflect on how even small actions—like a few hours of volunteer work—can have a profound and lasting effect on those in need. It was truly humbling to think about how our team’s collective efforts would help children all over the world survive and thrive.
