The WNCOG Gateway office complex and conference facilities with lodging was preparing to host thoushands the first of June 2023 for special services and activities to be held throughout the summer. However, on Sunday morning May 21, 2023, just days before guests are to arrive, staff enter to find water standing in hallways and rooms on two floors. An upstairs water pipe had burst sometime in the last 24 hours and flooded parts of the facilities. Charles Atkins, owner of PuroClean Property Damage Experts of Cleveland, TN was called to complete the emergency water damage restoration. Within hours on Sunday, Charles and a team of workers were on site to restore the property. They cleared the water, set up air movers and dehumidifiers and two feet of damaged drywall was cut out. Damaged ceiling tiles were also removed.

By Wednesday of that first week Charles and his crew had the facilities dried, and by the end of the week the center was ready for the rebuild completing the process needed for the staff to host the thousands preparing to attend meetings.
