Dryer safety is certainly no joke. Make sure you keep track of the lint and dust in your dryer.
Lint Screen
Hopefully, we all clean our lint screens after each drying cycle, but this step alone actually isn’t enough to ensure our home’s safety.
The ‘pocket’ which holds our lint screen is often times coated with layers of old lint and dust- with the help of a thin vacuum attachment, you can easily get inside your lint compartment and suck those lint remnants right out!
Dryer Vent
Another place to check for lint buildup is your dryer vent. All you have to do is using a screwdriver take off the clamp which holds the pipe in place, take the pipe off and clean the inside. If you are dealing with an especially long vent, you can save yourself some time and just purchase a new one from your local home improvement store.
Exterior Cover
It’s always a good idea to check that your vent and dryer are safe and not affected by the elements. Make sure that the dryer vent cover on the exterior wall of your home stays secure so that you don’t accidentally let rodents or unnecessary debris into your system.
