Then a mouse moved in to stay; All while the family was away for the day

Recently, a family contacted PuroClean recently for remediation. They were out of town and came home to discover that a mouse had taken up residence in their home during their absence. And, it seems this tiny house guest made themselves quite at home, as they reported several areas with mouse droppings.

Mice are not like other wild animals. In Reno, it is known that these tiny creatures carry the Hantavirus and should be dealt with by professionals. Before we could begin cleaning, we had to capture the mouse. We created a homemade mouse trap (as seen in the image below) to lure our furry intruder out of hiding. With it out of the house, we could begin sanitizing.

But, we cleaned every nook and cranny, using a HEPA Vacuum and Green Botanical Products. We also set a HEPA Air Scrubber in each room to ensure the house was safe for humans.

The family, who had a 22-month old daughter, was very pleased with our work. They were primarily concerned with how the mouse could affect their daughter’s health. But, after we finished our work, their minds were at ease. In fact, during our inspection, they were so calm that their daughter was sleeping soundly.
