About PuroClean of Akron: Our Story

PuroClean of Akron is located in Akron, OH. Formerly known for its link to the rubber industry due to the ‘Rubber Capital of the World’ era when four major tire companies were headquartered in the City. Akron is now a world-renowned center of polymer research and development. The Polymer Science Institute of the University of Akron is a world leader in polymer research. The Cleveland/Akron/Canton corridor is filled with historic sites, landmarks, and entertainment. Among these are the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Cleveland), Home of Goodyear and Firestone (Akron), and the Pro Football Hall of Fame (Canton), FirstEnergy Stadium, Home of  Cleveland Browns, and Progressive Field, Home of the Cleveland Indians. 

There are a host of locations for hiking, bird watching, kayaking/canoeing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and fishing for outdoor enthusiasts. Among those locations is the Towpath Trail, biking, running, walking trail that stretches from Cleveland along the old Ohio-Erie Canal for nearly 90 miles.

Akron is host to Porchrokr, Highland Squares music, and arts festival, a one-day music event in the various areas of Highland Square during which 100’s bands play all day on residents’ front porches.

William Hagey

Owner/Operator

William has worked in the software and IT industry for the last 25 + years. In that time, he has performed a variety of roles, from Education Coordinator and Customer Support Representative to Management of Implementations and ultimately Sales and Marketing. These responsibilities honed William’s management skills in terms of leading a group and reaching goals.

Colin Bendo

Technician

Joined PuroClean in 2021

Colin Bendo is the newest addition to the PuroClean of Akron Team. Colin is a recent graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio. Shortly after receiving his diploma, Colin went right to work and earned his IICRC Certifications in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD) at Puroclean Corporate Headquarters. Colin is a huge soccer fan, loves to cook/grill, and enjoys spending time working on his car.

Bella Hagey

Social Media

Bella will graduate in December 2021 from Kent State University with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Philosophy. Before pursuing Law School, Bella will be working in the area of Social Media for PuroClean of Akron.
