PuroClean Emergency Flood and Related Water Damage Restoration Services in Covington, GA

We know that dealing with emergency property damage can be frustrating, so we want you to feel at ease throughout the process and experience minimal disruption to your daily life.

Our technicians use the latest equipment to accurately measure the extent of the water damage and thoroughly restore your property while keeping you and your insurance agent updated at each step.

PuroClean of Covington will respond to your water damage emergencies in Covington with professionalism and courtesy 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Water Removal Process:

  1. Our technicians will first remove damaged materials that will either be restored or discarded. These materials include baseboards, insulation, furniture, upholstery, carpeting, carpet padding, wood, drywall, and more.
  2. After removing the damaged items, we begin drying out the water and disinfecting the affected areas. Specialized tools like high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) certified air movers and dehumidifiers are typically used in drying.
  3. If necessary, our technicians will also handle mold damage in the restoration process. Mold-infected surfaces will be disinfected and restored quickly to prevent any spores from spreading to other areas of the property.

Emergency Water Extraction

We begin by extracting any standing water in your home or business using high-grade equipment that is strategically placed to remove all the water from an affected area.

  1. The first step requires immediate water removal through our advanced pumping machines. Once the water has been extracted, all affected belongings and structures will be removed and either stored or discarded.
  2. Once completed, the equipment will be removed, and the water will be discarded elsewhere by PuroClean of Covington’s technicians.

Drying and Dehumidification

Once all areas requiring this process have been identified, the areas are isolated and prepped for drying and dehumidification.

  1. Removal of belongings and upholstery will be necessary to ensure the process can be done thoroughly.
  2. Your local PuroClean of Covington technician will place air-moving machines around the isolated area when ready. Keep in mind that these machines are loud. The fans will be focusing on areas of the house or business that contain moisture to pull out any trapped water.
  3. Next, the water will be pulled into the air and the fans as they go through the dehumidification process. All of the water pulled out will be disposed of by the PuroClean technician in another location.
  4. To ensure everything is drying, PuroClean of Covington technicians will monitor moisture levels. Once moisture levels are normal, any removed items will be placed back in their original locations.

Carpet Restoration

Carpet restoration is the process that PuroClean of Covington uses to take your damaged carpet and restore it to its pre-loss condition.

  1. The first step is to find the source of the water damage, as this helps determine whether or not your carpet is salvageable.
  2. If the findings of step one show that the carpet is salvageable, any remaining water is removed through water extraction.
  3. Then, high-grade air-moving fans will be used to remove the moisture from the carpet to prevent mold growth.
  4. PuroClean of Covington‘s technicians will update you and your insurance agent during the drying process.
  5. Once the carpet is dry, all equipment will be removed from the area, and all belongings will be put back into place.

Carpet Cleaning, Deodorization and Spot Removal

Any carpet that has been affected by water damage is subject to mildew formation, which can cause an odor to spread not only in the affected room but also throughout the entire home or office. Any odors can be removed from your carpet with proper cleaning, deodorization, and/or spot removal.

  1. Our technician will begin with a complete inspection and vacuuming of your carpet.
  2. Then, your furniture will be removed to repair your carpet.
  3. Spot and pet odor treatment will be done should the need arise.
  4. Fiber or textile protection is also available, which will protect and prolong the value of your carpet.

Water Damage Restoration Do’s and Don’ts

Repairing water damage is very important, but the safety of all parties is our main priority. Whether mitigating or restoring water damage, the following tips will help reduce the risk that you will suffer a setback due to a rain event, flood, faulty plumbing, or leaking A/C or roof.

What to Do

  1. Turn Water Off: Shut down your home’s water supply and call a plumber for repairs.
  2. Use Caution: Watch your step as floors may be slippery. Also, watch for trip and fall hazards, as well as for exposed electrical wires.
  3. Remove Water: Mop up as much water as possible. In cool weather, open windows to speed drying; in hot weather, if safe, switch on your A/C.
  4. Prop Up Upholstery: Remove all loose cushions and prop up upholstered furniture.
  5. Manage Area Rugs and Obstacles: Remove rugs and pick up any items that may be sitting on the floor.
  6. Dry Storage Containers: Open wet suitcases and storage boxes, and, if possible, dry them in the sunlight.
  7. Protect Valuables: Move paintings and other artwork to a safe, dry place.
  8. Dry Clothing: Immediately dry all garments. Hang fur and leather goods to dry at room temperature.
  9. Protect Furniture: Place aluminum foil or plastic under furniture legs on wet carpeting. Open, but do not force open drawers and cabinet doors to dry out their interiors.
  10. Call PuroClean Immediately: Call PuroClean of Covington at (770) 430-7876. Our trained technicians are highly skilled in water damage restoration.

What Not to Do

  1. Don’t Use a Vacuum Cleaner: Only use a wet vacuum equipped to handle water. Do not use your regular household vacuum.
  2. Don’t Operate Electrical Appliances: Do not use TVs, radios, computers, ceiling fans, or any other electrical appliances while standing on wet carpets or floors, mainly concrete or tile.
  3. Don’t Touch Outlets or Plugs: Do not plug in or unplug any electrical appliances or touch anything that is already plugged in.
  4. Don’t Turn up the Heat: Keep interiors cool to prevent mold and mildew growth.
