PuroClean Acknowledges Lydia and Taiwo Akinyemi with Public Relations Excellence Award

Local PuroClean co-owners, Lydia and Taiwo Akinyemi, were awarded the Public Relations Excellence Award at the annual PuroClean International Convention. The Akinyemis, husband-and-wife team and co-owners of PuroClean of Southern Westchester, were selected out of over 500 PuroClean locations for their outstanding commitment to elevating the PuroClean brand nationally and throughout their local community through impactful media engagement and public relations initiatives.

Taiwo and Lydia joined PuroClean in 2017, each bringing a strong background in finance. What drew them to PuroClean wasn’t just the business opportunity; it was their shared desire to help people in times of need. Longtime residents of the Westchester community, where they’ve lived for over 25 years, the Akinyemis are deeply rooted in the area they serve. They are also proud parents of two children.

Lydia and Taiwo launched PuroClean of Southern Westchester in Ardsley, New York, with a clear mission: to make a difference in their neighbors’ lives during their most difficult moments. That mission has fueled their tireless efforts to represent the PuroClean brand with authenticity. The Akinyemis received the award in recognition of their proactive public relations efforts, heartfelt storytelling, and outstanding partnership with PuroClean’s PR partner, Franchise Elevator.

“Receiving the Public Relations Excellence Award is a deeply meaningful honor,” said Lydia Akinyemi. “It’s a testament to our dedication, passion, purpose, and trust we’ve worked hard to build with our community, and we’re incredibly proud to represent the values of PuroClean in everything we do.”

The Public Relations Excellence award, introduced at the 2024 PuroClean International Convention, recognizes Franchise Owners who go above and beyond in sharing their journey, showcasing the brand’s core values, and building a strong PR presence in both their local community and national media. The Akinyemis and their team have embraced this role wholeheartedly, engaging in media opportunities, participating in in-depth interviews, and offering invaluable insights on leadership, entrepreneurship, and the advancement of women in the restoration industry.

“Lydia and Taiwo have been remarkable advocates for the PuroClean brand,” said Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean. “They have demonstrated strong business leadership, and a deep understanding of how thoughtful public engagement can uplift our entire franchise network. Their work sets the standard for how our Franchise Owners can authentically share their stories and amplify their impact.”

Lydia’s dedication to visibility and representation has led to high-profile media recognition. She was recently featured in a video interview in Cleanfax Magazine as a standout female leader in the industry and profiled in Home Business Magazine for her journey breaking barriers in a male-dominated field. Her leadership philosophy —centered around empowerment, accountability, and team development —has not only propelled her business forward but also positioned PuroClean as a trusted service provider for those seeking property restoration and remediation.

Ben Doebler Recognized for Outstanding Dedication to the PuroClean Brand and Strong Commitment Within the Franchise System

Brand Promise Award winner Ben Doebler with PuroClean leadership

PuroClean, a leading property restoration franchise, is proud to announce that Ben Doebler, Franchise Owner of PuroClean Restoration Services of Hillsboro, Oregon, has been awarded the esteemed 2024 Brand Promise Award. This distinguished honor is presented annually to the Franchise Owner who exemplifies unwavering commitment to the PuroClean brand, service excellence, and commendable community engagement.

A standout leader in the network, Doebler operates four PuroClean franchises across Oregon, with three locations serving the Portland Metro area—Hillsboro, Milwaukie, and Portland—and a fourth location in Salem, further south. Over the years, he has received multiple accolades, including the On the Move Award (2015) and the Brand Ambassador Award in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021. He also earned the Continuing Education (CE) Award in 2020 and has been named to the prestigious President’s Circle from 2017 to 2024, an honor reserved for the top 10% of Franchise Owners in the network.

Beyond PuroClean, Doebler’s commitment to professional growth is equally impressive—he holds the coveted Master Water Restorer designation, among others, through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), a hallmark of advanced industry expertise.

“It takes a village,” said Doebler. “Nothing I’ve done here has happened on my own. We are blessed to have such a great crew and team, and even more than that, to have the people who support us. It’s a privilege to be part of this brand and make such an impact.”

A former Zaxby’s restaurant owner, Doebler discovered his true calling in the restoration industry after recognizing a significant need for quality restoration services in his community. He launched his first PuroClean location in 2014, from a one-man garage operation, and has built a thriving business with a dedicated team of over 30 employees.

Doebler’s passion for helping people during their most challenging times is the heartbeat of his success. In the wake of floods, fires, or mold infestations, he doesn’t just see damaged property; he sees an opportunity to make a positive impact. For Ben, the most rewarding part of his job is being able to help others through their worst day, a powerful reflection of the compassion that drives him and his team.

“Ben’s unwavering commitment to helping others in times of crisis is the embodiment of what the PuroClean Brand Promise Award stands for,” said Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean. “Throughout his time as a member of the PuroClean family, Ben has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the brand and his Portland community. Community, Culture, and Connection

Beyond the sessions and awards, this Convention reminded us what makes PuroClean truly special: our community.

From the Welcome Kick-Off Party in the Expo Hall to the Prayer Circle and the PuroWomen’s Growth Group luncheon, the energy was electric. Attendees had the chance to network with industry partners, explore innovations in the Strategic Partner Expo, and enjoy memorable experiences, from golf at the Cowboys Golf Club to Saturday’s closing Networking Party at the Glass Cactus.

These moments weren’t just fun, they were foundational. They strengthened the bonds that make us ONE TEAM, united by a shared mission and future.

A Huge Thank You to Our 2025 Convention Sponsors

The success of this Convention would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors. From breakout sessions to networking events, their contributions helped create an unforgettable experience for our Franchise Owners and guests. Special thanks to our Platinum Sponsors, Aramsco, Cotality, and Signal Restoration Services, and all of our Diamond, Silver, Bronze, and Premium Sponsors, whose partnership fuels the growth and strength of our entire network.

Your commitment helps empower our franchise system to grow stronger, serve better, and lead with purpose.

Looking Ahead

As PuroClean continues to grow, events like these serve as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a purpose-driven network rallies around shared values.

From embracing  new technologies, to welcoming new partners and leaders, we are energized for what lies ahead and more committed than ever to being a World-Class Brand that leads with integrity, innovation, and impact.

Thank you to everyone who engaged with us at this year’s Convention, and a special thank you to our sponsors, speakers, and Home Office Support Team for making it all possible.

Until next year, because the best is yet to come.
