“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Disaster Response uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean Disaster Response will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Prescott, AZ area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
An extremely effective way to limit the spread of the virus is by the deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, and also using EPA-registered disinfectants. This level of cleaning can be done in commercial properties, institutions and residential homes alike. Currently, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, causing government officials and healthcare experts to urge the public to take every necessary precaution for personal protection. The coronavirus cleaning services we offer assists in reducing contamination risk related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Contact your local PuroClean office for additional information regarding how we can assist you in the cleaning of your property.
The virus is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be breathed into the lungs.
According to the CDC, it could likely be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by coming into contact with a surface or object which has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
PuroClean will initially conduct a complete assessment of your home or office. We then make a determination on the level of containment required and speak to you about the plan of action.
When we arrive at your home or business we’ll do an inspection to confirm the area is ready for PuroClean’s cleaning services. We will plan the flow of work and perform the tasks as efficiently as possible.
It is of high importance to conduct biohazard removal while also paying strict attention to safety, industry and OSHA standards and guidelines. Our skilled technicians wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure your personal safety. PuroClean will also contain the area, taking the necessary steps to keep you and your family or employees safe as well.
All of the PuroClean professionals are required to wear PPE. This particular protective equipment includes a full-face respirator which protects from any type of splashes contacting the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Additionally, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
Specific use towelettes are used that also conform to OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard to fight diseases like the coronavirus and other diseases, bacteria, mold, mildew, tuberculosis, and viruses. These and more cleaning supplies used by our industry certified professionals are all hospital grade and EPA-registered disinfectants.
The cleaning materials commonly used by our technicians include:
EPA-registered as well as hospital grade disinfectants are applied during this process. Depending on the project needs, we generally use these methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – PuroClean professionals will either manually clean or, for machine cleaning, they will use approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then remove spots where applicable.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery should be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated materials are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, contaminated pieces are to be laundered per instructions on each label.
Tanned leather materials – We can wash these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather garments – These should be cleaned according to the instructions of the manufacturer.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleansed by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC System: Industry regulations should be obeyed for the cleaning of internal HVAC ducts surfaces and components; by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. Also, the outside ductwork, registers, grates, grills and surfaces are to be washed using a disinfectant solution.
Our crew shall make the decision whether more cleaning and deodorization will be needed. However, typically once the infected locations are cleaned and start to dry, the odors will disappear.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an innovative procedure used to start the sanitization process of public areas in the most effective way possible. Our process uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas close by.
Prior to leaving a site that was once infected with the coronavirus, our team will do a complete cleaning of all tools, equipment, and PPE used in the cleaning process for coronavirus with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
