“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Emergency Restoration Services uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean Emergency Restoration Services will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products.
Our end goal is to get your business re-opened with your team members and clients safety in mind.
An extremely effective way to slow the spread of the virus is by the deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, as well as the use of EPA-registered disinfectants. This particular kind of cleaning can be done in commercial properties, institutions and residential homes alike. Right now, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, causing government leaders and healthcare officials to urge the public to take every possible precaution for personal protection. The coronavirus cleaning services we offer assists in reducing contamination risk related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Contact your local PuroClean office for additional information to find out how we can assist you in the cleaning of your property.
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of individuals who are nearby or can also be inhaled into the lungs.
According to the CDC, it may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object which has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.
We first will come in and provide a full assessment of your facility, office, or home. We decide on the level of containment required and discuss the plan of action with you.
Our technicians need to determine the workflow in order to finish your cleanup project as quickly as possible. When they first arrive at your location PuroClean will conduct a preliminary inspection of your property to make sure it is ready for cleaning so as to complete this step quickly and efficiently.
It is of high importance to conduct biohazard removal while also paying close attention to safety, industry and OSHA standards and guidelines. Our skilled technicians wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. PuroClean will also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your loved ones or employees safe as well.
First, wearing proper PPE is required. Our technicians wear a full-face respirator to guard against infected particles coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. The technicians also wear Biohazard protective coveralls, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
Our industry certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s blood borne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The typical cleaning materials used by PuroClean professionals include:
Puroclean uses three methods for applying disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, technicians apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either clean these items manually or, for machine cleaning, they will apply approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then extract where applicable.
Natural fabric rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: These items are to be cleaned in exact accordance with the manufacturer’s labeled instructions.
Disinfecting linens, clothing and personal fabrics: The instructions on each label should be obeyed when laundering the contaminated articles. Note: Remember to disinfect washing machines following washing contaminated clothing.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather items – Cleaned following manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleansed by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC system – External ductwork surfaces, grills, grates, and registers shall be cleaned with a disinfectant solution. The interior surfaces of HVAC ductwork and components need to be cleaned in accordance with industry instructions by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner.
It is common for the bad smell to dissipate when the infected areas are cleaned and begin to dry. However, our trained professionals will make the determination if further cleaning and deodorizing is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense system sanitizes and even reduces virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative process that we use in order to disinfect public places the most effective way possible.
EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant will be used to clean all cleaning implements that was used during the coronavirus cleanup. Before leaving the site that was contaminated with the coronavirus we will conduct this detailed cleaning.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
