What a first year it was.
From July 29 through August 2, 2026, PuroClean of Burlington set up shop at the Racine County Fair for the very first time, and it did not disappoint. Despite some rainy weather throughout the week, our booth stayed dry inside the commercial building, which meant families could still stop by, hang out, and have some fun with us no matter what the sky was doing.
This wasn’t just about setting up a table and handing out business cards. Our goal at the Racine County Fair was to create something genuinely fun for families while sneaking in a little education about fire safety and property damage prevention along the way.
Spin the Wheel, Learn Fire Safety, Win a Prize

One of the biggest hits at our Racine County Fair booth was the prize wheel.
Kids would spin the wheel, land on a question, answer it, and then pick a prize from our table full of squishies, slap bracelets, temporary tattoos, erasers, and more. Some questions focused specifically on fire safety, like “If your house catches fire, what is the first thing you should do?” or the classic fill-in-the-blank, “Stop, Drop, and ___.” The kids never missed a beat shouting “ROLL!”
We talked with every child about getting outside to safety first, then calling 911. Honestly, one of our favorite parts of the Racine County Fair was realizing how much these kids already knew. Some brought up “Drop Low and Go.” Others knew to check if a door was hot before opening it. The parents, teachers, and local firefighters in this community are clearly doing something right.
Free S’mores Made the Booth Even Sweeter
No fair booth is complete without a good snack, and ours delivered.
We set up a free s’mores station right at our booth, complete with marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, and a s’mores maker ready to go. Families stopped by all week to make s’mores together, and it turned into one of the easiest ways to strike up a conversation. Between the wheel, the prizes, and the s’mores, there was rarely a quiet moment at our Racine County Fair booth.
More Than Fire Safety
Not every wheel question was about fire. We mixed in a few PuroClean-specific ones too, like “What is mold?” and “If your house floods, can it be saved?” Those questions gave us a natural way to explain what we actually do and how PuroClean of Burlington helps when the unexpected happens.
We also handed out PuroClean magnets so families would have our number handy. Disasters like fire damage, water damage, sewer backups, mold, and biohazard situations don’t wait for convenient timing. They happen in the middle of the night, on weekends, whenever life decides to throw a curveball. That’s exactly why we want our neighbors to already know who to call.
Around here, people know us as the Paramedics of Property Damage, and that’s a title we take seriously. Being a trusted, familiar face at events like the Racine County Fair helps us live up to it.
Building Real Connections
Our time at the Racine County Fair was about more than promotion. It was about meeting neighbors, connecting with local business owners, and spending time with police departments, fire departments, and town leaders who make this community what it is. It was about making learning fun for kids and being present in a way that goes beyond a logo on a booth.
Rain and all, our first Racine County Fair exceeded every expectation. We met wonderful people, taught a few fire safety lessons, and ate more than a few s’mores along the way.
We’ll see you next year, Racine County Fair. And we’re not done yet; PuroClean of Burlington will be at the Kenosha County Fair too.
PuroClean of Burlington proudly serves communities throughout Wisconsin and Illinois with water damage restoration, mold remediation, fire damage, biohazard cleanup services, etc.
