Our Story

“I understand the people that live here,” says Frank Rizzo, co-owner of PuroClean of Conroe. He and his wife of 33 years, Angela, are an integral part of the Montgomery County community. As their three sons were growing up, they were active with ALODIA Basketball and Matt Bullard basketball camps, SCFL football, and ORWALL baseball. His sons were also active swimmers, so Frank became an official with the Northwest Aquatic League. Frank was also an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 428 of the Boys Scouts Sam Houston Area Council. He currently serves as the local high school rugby coach, Director of Rugby for the Woodlands Youth Rugby Club, and is an active parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Woodlands.

“Our family has strong roots in Montgomery County and we are here to stay,” says Colby Kreft, co-owner of PuroClean of Conroe. He and his wife live on a farm in western Montgomery County that has been in his wife’s family for five generations.

Both Frank and Colby have been part of the community for so long and know what to expect regarding property damage. Colby says, “This is an area prone to natural disasters…” The community borders Lake Conroe and the San Jacinto River drainage area, which are prone to flooding. Other common issues include hurricanes and tornadoes which can cause major damage to area homes and businesses. PuroClean of Conroe serves heavily wooded areas, which, during particularly dry seasons, increases the risk of grass fires and wildfires, like the Tri-County wildfire of 2011. Colby continues, “with this company we will be set to help this community when it needs it the most.”

Many of Colby and Frank’s friends and family reside in and own businesses in the area. Colby says, “We have an intimate knowledge of the area and its needs. Opening this business is a way for us to add value to the community, providing jobs for residents, essential services, and revenue for the local economy. With PuroClean of Conroe, Frank also looks forward to investing in the area and “help[ing] our neighbors in need at a time when they need it the most.”

In 2005, Frank helped a client restore several commercial properties in Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida that had been damaged from Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma. Frank was tasked with creating a streamlined process from assessing and prioritizing the damage to engaging contractors for repairs. “Seeing farmhouses in the middle of a road or shrimp boats five miles from the water was a revelation, but seeing the people who had lost everything was heartbreaking. Being a part of helping them rebuild their businesses, their communities, but more importantly their lives was probably one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Operating a PuroClean franchise will give me the ability to take what I learned then and apply it here in my own community.”

Throughout this emergency management process, Frank watched people go through several stages of grief. He says it begins with a paralyzing panic, then an attempt to try to salvage everything, followed by trying to salvage only the “important” things. Finally, he says, “it always ends with acceptance by letting everything go.” Because of Frank’s unique experience with the emergency management process you can rest assured that PuroClean of Conroe will empathize with you during your property damage restoration.
