Position Title: Lead Technician
Job Overview
The Lead Technician is responsible for managing disaster response and crisis management activities related to water mitigation, fire restoration, mold remediation, and biohazard cleanup. This role works directly with customers to explain the restoration process, assess the scope of work, and lead technicians on job sites. The Lead Technician also supervises, develops, and mentors team members to ensure high-quality service and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Candidates should meet one of the following experience and certification requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of field experience, and
- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) Certification required, and one of the following:
- IICRC Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT), or
- IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD)
Essential Job Functions
The Lead Technician is responsible for:
- Communicating the restoration process clearly to customers
- Providing daily updates to insurance partners and centers of influence
- Assessing job severity and evaluating the extent of damages
- Understanding and promoting the company’s operational systems, including:
- Company CRM
- Xactimate
- Mitigate
- Training new employees on technician responsibilities and company procedures
- Maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
- Wearing the company-provided uniform as required
- Fostering a strong team culture among field operations staff and across the organization
Specific Responsibilities
The Lead Technician is responsible for:
- Following all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures and standards
- Understanding and adhering to restoration procedures, including:
- Water damage restoration procedures
- Mold remediation equipment and procedures
- Fire and smoke cleaning tools and procedures
- Carpet cleaning equipment and procedures
- Demonstrating a positive, team-oriented, can-do attitude at all times
- Completing all necessary paperwork accurately and on time while delivering excellent customer service
- Maintaining all equipment and vehicles in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
- Remaining available for emergency response work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as needed
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Possess a valid driver’s license and safely operate company vehicles
- Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Work for extended periods in both large and confined spaces
- Wear appropriate respirator equipment for extended periods
- Pass a respirator fit test and medical evaluation
Compensation: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour
